How much do you charge for building a website?
Though web design fees start at around $1500 for fairly straightforward projects, fees vary according to complexity and scale of the design. To get a rough idea, please have a look at the sample Web Design Fees. Note that there are special offers and you may be eligible for a discount.
Do you redesign existing websites?
Yes, unless I can't make a site any better, I most certainly do.
How long does it take for a website to go live?
This depends on the same factors that determine the price tag on your website. For example, a small website could go live in as little as four weeks, while a complex web design project could take several months or more.
What steps are involved in the design process?
The Web Design Steps page has the answers to this.
Do you set up websites at no extra charge?
Yes. Set up and initial troubleshooting is included.
Do you offer managed hosting with website content updates?
Yes, I do. $25 a month gets you a managed hosting account, ten email boxes at your domain, and half hour of my time reserved for website changes that you request; or if your needs are such, $45 monthly gets you double that time and double the space, bandwidth and double the mailboxes. There are bigger plans if you need them. Please visit my www.digibee.net for details.
Is there such thing as web design warranty?
A one year warranty is included.
Do you submit websites to search engines?
All websites are submitted to major search engines that offer free submission. at the moment of writing, these include Google, Yahoo and Bing. Inclusion is not guaranteed and could take anywhere from two weeks to two months. For express inclusion you may want to consider a paid service with the search engines.
Can you get my site to list first in search engine results?
Half the traffic to most websites comes from search engine results, which is why a lot of people are working hard to stay on top of what search engines are doing. However, because the algorithms are changed often and differ a great deal from one to the next, no one can guarantee your certain placement in the search results.
Nonetheless, there are ways to improve your website's popularity, its search engine friendliness and thus positioning of your website in search engine listings. In addition, there are paid advertisements - some of which can appear at or near the top of the search results.
Have you received any web design awards?
lande.ca, shiki.ca and cygalski.net have received awards, and most of the websites I designed have been showcased in various online galleries including Screenalicious, CSS Smooth Operator, Web Design Archive, Daily Slurp, CSS Bloom, CSS Elite, CSS Import and so on.
